Had to play with the clocking of the compressor housing but it is finally on.

Only waiting for the oil drain pipe to arrive then I can start it up. I am sooo curious about the NA cams.

So I woke her up last night. Could not drive it yet but from the sound, surely I will have to play with the timing.

This may help you if it is new to you?

Although for 1998 the process is similar and you have to apply the appropriate disc for the 2 litre.

On the vid it sounds retarded to me as the note is dull and not lively also too regular?

Yes, I've got one of these discs. Had to make my own markings tho because the 850s have different timing gears.

On the video everything was in "zero" position, I used the camshaft holder tool when I put it together. Today, I retarded the intake cam and advanced the exhaust cam with 4-4 degrees. It sounds a bit better now but tomorrow I am going to try a few degrees more to reduce the overlap.
I am also thinking about putting back the stock injectors to see how she runs with those as I got the feeling that the ecu cant control the 440cc ones well.
I could not do a real driving test because the car has no MOT but loud so it pulls attention quickly.
I drove it about 500m twice, in the first run the little hose popped off the IC, the second run the same hose popped off the inlet manifold so I left her for today.

So I have put the original gray injectors back and the car is now running fine so the 440s were surely way too big for the stock ECU. Boost was only 0.6bar with the 16t but the car felt nearly as quick as it was before with the 14t@1.1bar. NA cams and the ported head brought some nice top end power and it is revving nicely.
Tomorrow I'll put the 440cc jets back because I found an "adaptation reset" option in my diagnostic software and tested it and it works! After the reset it took 6-7 times to start up the engine so if I do it with the 440s hopefully the ECU will conform to the bigger injectors.

I have tried the adaptation with the 440 injectors but it did not work. They are too big unfortunately and the ECU cant compensate. The lambda was 0.5-0.6, nowhere near 1. Now I'll start using the car with the OEM grays and watch the lambda. I'll raise the boost till the grays run out of capacity .
