I would be happy with that as well, just don't forget that his car is only fwd, where as the new XC60 is awd so will probably only make about 30mpg.

But that's only dragging the weight around as opposed to transmission lag isn't it? The Haldex clutch will stay open on the motorway won't it? (Not sure - my last two were fwd)

I'm really just going by my current XC60 which averages 36mpg, that being awd.
I'd love to think I will get over 30mpg out of my new XC60 T5. which will be awd.

I had forgotten that and my dealer said he got 27 over the weekend but no idea where he was driving or how. We shall see as the months progress. I would be more concerned over range, it's only a 60 litre tank compared with 70 on my D5.

I don't understand why they have cut the size of tank from 70 ltrs for the diesel to 60 ltr for the petrol.

Either they need the space for something or to do with regs for volatile liquids perhaps or something else. Must be a reason I guess.

It's more complicated than that.
D4 = 60 litres
D5 = 71 litres
T5 = 60 litres
T8 = 50 litres (space required for battery pack ?)

Strange.

I can understand the T8 but still not the other Diesel /Petrol, my reasoning that the petrol would have a reduced range so really needs a larger tank capacity.

On a (possibly) related matter - found out today that the battery is in the boot in the spare wheel well.

... and I have asked a dealer how the tempa spare fits in the well with the battery present.
He didn't know.
