I could have fun with trying to get Ford to explain why my Mazda 2 (Ford - really) had catastrophic failure of the suspension and serious power steering leaks at only 32k Miles. But then my Escort PAS pump only lasted that long, so maybe Ford don't expect their stuff to last, which is worrying as Volvo and Ford/Mazda "share" a lot of bits.

Thanks for all your input. I will post an update once they have installed the replacement part. Hopefully I won't need to argue my consumer rights but I'll let you know if I do!

Ok so Volvo West London fixed the hybrid failure under warranty so that's all good. What wasn't so good was driving it back West along the M4 this morning when the engine low coolant light came up. Nice one. Glad they don't service aircraft. Rather than risk turning back or waiting for another recovery I sorted it this out by myself.

So fed up with complex european combustion engines and appalling dealer technical service. One day my next car is going to be a used 2015 Tesla model S...

Hyrbid, can you update on the details of the solution please? It sounds like my V60 PIH has a similar issue. Hybrid system failure last week in the snow, but the diesel seemed fine. On Sunday it died with "Hybrid System Failure - seek urgent assistance" and a message about electrical system checks. Recovered it to Endeavour Watford and they called today to report that they've spend 2 hours testing it and can't diagnose the problem. Asked me whether I have an extended warranty (I don't) and whether I could approve them spending unlimited time diagnosing the fault (at £££ per hour!!!)
Reading your post and a couple of others it doesn't seem to be an isolated issue, yet they are struggling to solve it. Any help gratefully received!!!
