Default What discs and pads?

Ok, this may start a heated discussion but hey we are all grown ups ;-). Currently looking for some discs and pads I can whack on the CC (just returning to work) and wondered what folk suggest for the rears?

I had pagid on my old T4 and they were pretty good. Just seeing what others may suggest. I don't want massively expensive ones.

I currently have Pagid discs and pads on my V40. I used to have Mintex on the old P1 and never had any problems with them.
I think the important thing is to match the discs and pads to each other - soft discs and hard pads or hard discs and soft pads. So if you stick to the same make for discs and pads you should be fine.

If you are a tart, want race style disc mintex does some tasty looking coated, grooved etc discs, teamed with red stuff by EBC pads is a popular "upgrade"

If you really want to go for it Ferodo ds2500 i think pads are expensive, but if you bed them in as you should give good results.

Personally, I tend to just buy decent brand discs and pads, unless can get genuine cheaper which often the case if you look hard enough.

or if you ask certain members of the forum, your dingly dangle will fall off, your cherries will shrink if you use anything other than genuine purchase from your local dealer, fitted by a team of F1 mechanics watched over by steven hawking lol

Mines got blueprint pads all round and blueprint front disks, the only things I haven't needed to change yet are the rear disks but they're getting close so will be the same, from what the local motor parts place have said they are one up from the cheapest option so middle of the road sort of stuff by all accounts, no problems to report here, although purely from an aesthetics point of view I may look for pads that produce less dust next time as cleaning the wheels once a week gets boring, and no, I will never ever ever have wheels with polished lips again after these haha

Pagid discs and pads on the V40 rear in March 2015. No problems with dust or performance and appear to be ok up to now

Pagid discs and pads all round for me. Get them from ECP at a very reasonable price. Will definitely carry on using them for the foreseeable future. No complaints and ECP hold them in stock. They are not stupidly expensive so I renew the discs every other time I renew the pads on the front and renew discs and pads together on the rears. The rears last ages however.

Unipart! And loving it. Bog standard. Cheap as chips!

The way I figure it; If I can get the ABS to kick in, then anything better is a waste. Besides, it's the tyres which do the stopping. You can fit the best brakes in the world, as soon as that tyre loses traction, your smart dual-pistoned red-painted calipers with their unicorn-horn brake pads are pure cosmetic vanity.

Just my opinion.
