Gary you don't need to do any masking, the front bezel just clips off leaving the reflector in place in the light. Either use a metal coat hanger to hang them and spray them or put them on a newspaper and spray them. Simples!

Also, I don't think UHT Paint is required, it doesn't get that hot in a light to warrant high temp paint. I used a marker pen on mine! With good results, but I am going to re-do them with black spray paint soon as I want them perfect. I'm going to use 600p wet to give it a really good key, I also have a compressor and gun and some very very good 2k clear coat that I will give them a couple coats and maybe polish them up aswell. Of course I will do a how-to while i'm at it.

Hi Tony

The masking I mean, is to leave the thin chrome line around the inside edge, right next to the reflectors, so it looks just like the sport.

Rufe just sent me this quote, for black bezels and indicators:

Headlamp Bezel, BLACK, x2: [30896560 & 30896561]
Retail Price £84.00 / Our Price £68.88 for the 2
(18% online customer discount off this item)

*Sweden, 1 to 2 extra working days

Front Indicator, BLACK BEZEL, x2: [30621835, 30621836]
Retail Price £102.24 / Our Price £86.90 for the 2
(15% online customer discount off this item)

I am thinking of swaying toward the replacement, with the proper bezel, but, we shall see.

Plenty other things to do before the lights.

Might even have a search on e-bay - you never know.

EDIT: Just bought a pair of new, black indicators on e-bay, for £18.95 each - bargain, I think.

I will keep them in the loft, nice and safe, until I sort out what I am doing with the bezels.

Oh, I am pretty sure the wife will slaughter me, as I ordered them on my paypal, on HER account. :-( Nice knowing you all!

Gary

Question Black Bezels

...or is the thin chrome edge, from the actual reflector?

See the chrome rim in the attachment, to see what I mean.

There are three different types of bezel, the chrome one, the black one (which is just the chrome painted black) and the black with chrome rings.

Both the dipped and main beam reflectors are separate from the bezel.

My preference would be towards the black with the chrome rings...not in any way biased

Them's the ones, Baffler

Chrome rings are the ones I want!

You have my second colour choice, for an S40.

My first is the metallic red...not that I am biased either

The search continues...

Question Black headlight bezels

Hi all

I got my hands on an offside headlight bezel, with chrome rings and a brand new set of black indicators!

All I need now, is an nearside headlight bezel to match.

If anyone finds, or indeed has one, give me a shout, please.

I would like to get these fitted along with my HID kits and front splitter, all in one go.

Main reason is so I don't have to keep taking the bolts out of the bumper.

Cheers.

Gary

Cheers FIREBOLT

I got prices from Rufe a few weeks ago, but hoped to get them for less than £30.00 odd each.

I got the offside one for £15.00 on ebay, so it would be nice to get another bargain.
