Come on all you XC60 UK drivers, and those in the EU who cross the channel, get emailing Volvo Customer Care with complaints; I want this changed before I come back to the EU.

Simples............
Isn't the calc 5 and 8? Not 9? IE times mph by 8 and divide by 5?

ie 70mph is 70 divided by 5 and then x 8 = 112KPH or 70mph is 70 x 8 divided by 5 = 112KPH

We usually work on 6 miles to every 10 kms, so 100 kms about 60 miles, not perfect but okay.

100 km is 62 miles hence why we now talk about 0-62mph instead of 0-60....or so I thought.

Yep know that but we just work it out so we don't go over the speed limit I.e

50 kms = 31m 120.66yds but we would work it out at 30m so below the speed limit.

To us simples is best!

My mistake. It is times the MPH by 5 and then divide by 8 as a general rule of thumb to get KPH.

i.e. 100 KPH is circa 62 MPH mph.

If you want to change MPG to KPH then do the reverse.

Not sure why I put 9 down initially as I knew it to be 8 - that's what we used to do when we were travelling in Europe (in the 70's) when there was no KPH indication on the speedo!

Looks like history is repeating itself with Volvo as again no KPH readout.

Alternatively if you don't like doing the calculation, let's have a collective whine to Volvo to get them to include it in an update as it is surely something I would expect all car manufacturers to have - had it on my last two Volvo's.

I whined and got a "positive." Answer...someone else whines and gets a "tough she*t" reply...So even Volvo customer services can't give a consistent answer.

Smile Changing display from mph to kph

I too had this issue in the summer and yes I would prefer it to be in the main window but I soon adjusted to the little display and it really wasn't that much of a hardship.

BTW, if you drive in France and you haven't got your Sanef Tolling tag then you really should. At one peage I sailed past a 30 car long queue with my "blipper"

All this whining to Volvo lark, who do you contact? Your dealer? Volvo UK by phone? An email address? Curious in case I ever want to make a suggestion...
