Default Breaking or project - Saffron V70R

Working away for the foreseeable future, I've realised that the R is getting on top of me a bit! The more I look at it, the more I can see it needing to make it the car I want, so I've made the difficult decision that I'll have to either break it, or sell as a project.

I bought it in December, with gearbox issues. I have replaced the PCV, full service with genuine filters, new radiator, sat it on a set of smart Orestes, and done dozens of small jobs around the car, with the intention of getting it on the road to take a lot of miles off my Discovery TD5. After all this, I taxed and insured it, and used it for a day, the gearbox seemed fine with its fresh ATF, no warning lights, smooth changes etc. but that evening started slipping very badly.

I bought a good secondhand R gearbox to fit, from a 110k miles car last week, but fitting it is getting beyond me, and it's a project more than I need right now. I have the front suspension off at the moment, with the subframe dropped and the engine supported on a beam, so at this point, breaking it seems the best option, I'd rather not kill a saffron R, and for the right offer, would rather see it off to a good home (I can deliver for fuel cost).

1997 V70R 2wd auto (4 speed)
Saffron metallic paint
Dark interior (very good condition)
3x original Comet alloys with 2 smaller ones which I think are from a 960 (Orestes may be sold separately)
Just serviced with new genuine filters and oils throughout
New radiator (as a turbo auto, it's suitable for all ph1s I think)
Stainless twin exit cat-back exhaust (unsure of make - may be custom)
Good secondhand 4 speed auto box
aluminium trim interior
bodywork is very tidy, so all doors, wings, bonnet and tailgate
R front bumper with all grilles, but needs paint
Rear bumper has been cut for the offside exhaust tip
blue dials
parrot bluetooth kit
Towbar
Headlights seem better than most

All parts are available, or, as I said, PM me if interested as a project!
I've wanted a Saffron R since I was a kid, so it's not easy posting this...

Simple enough - if there's enough interest as a breaker then it's well on its way, but if someone wants it as a project, I can bolt the subframe back up and put the struts back in, in an afternoon.

I can't have it in the way for the next couple of months before I'd get time to get it up to the standard I want, so one way or the other it has to go.

Would be a shame to break it for sure, but could be interested in the Orestes and tyres if they're the right load and speed rating for a P2 car, and if the price is right of course

It's going to take up room if you break it! Just put the box in it
