I would try disconnecting the battery for a good while and see if this causes everything to reset fine.

Still struggling folks. Tried another set of buttons - no joy. Checked the drop down fuse/relay box in passenger footwell - nothing seems amiss but without taking every relay & fuse out individually then can't be sure. Same goes for engine bay fuse box.
Any suggestions? I'm sure it must be a fuse or relay, but which and where? Need to sort this without resorting to the last resort - a $tealer. My local independent isn't "hot on the electrics..." sadly.

Hi smig - when you say you have one I could try did you mean the bit with the display (ICM) or the console buttons (CCM). Tried with a replacement known good CCM and no joy. Display part of the ICM seems to be OK but maybe it's other functions aren't. Any chance I could borrow what you've got if its the ICM bit? Happy to send you some wonga via PayPal. Cheers.

Cheers smig. I've got a 2nd set of buttons mate - didn't do any good. it seems they (CCM) only talk to the display bit (ICM) bit that has more "intelligence" than just a display. Totally stumped now by the whole f&*^%^ng thing!!

This is worth a try as it is free:
Disconnect battery (negative), leave car for 10 min, take out CEM! Replace CEM after cleaning connection on both sides (plug and connection). Re-connect battery and try again. |

Ok, before I go hunting, where will I find CEM? Bear in mind EVERYTHING else works fine - all my other electronics is OK - am I likely to balls other stuff up taking out the CEM? SRS etc...?

CEM is the fuse box thing under the upper carpeted area on the passenger side. This is removed on services to change the pollen filter.
Do a search on here for the pollen filter change and you will find the how to that shows pictures and explains on the CEM removal. It is very easy but do ensure you clip the connections and lock them back in place correctly. |

Cheers. You might be on to something. Had a service at my (usually very good, ex-Harratts) local independent before Xmas - where had it's first new pollen filter in a very long time, just checked the bill (you should have seen the filter that came out!). I also found a nut on the passenger floor under the mat - from the excellent pictorial guide on here it looks like it's off the CEM mounting bracket!
Getting dark now but I'll be down in the passenger footwell as soon as feasible - to boldly go, etc.....!
