It's being suggested over on T/B that all 1031s are lockers. I didn't think so...

As I thought, 1041 had teh locker as standard.

1031s and 1030s teh LSD was a "dealer fit" option so the only way to be sure is to look inside: -

Or.... turn one back wheel with the other jacked up. If they turn the same way, it's a dealer fit slipper.... opposite ways it is a standard open diff.

This test only works for the 1031 dealer fit slippers.... NOT the 1041 lockers.

So I am driving around in a car with an axle designed in 1969!!

Well I did say the 940 rear set-up was a triumph of development over archaic design.
