I remember reading about a 136bhp XC60, although it seems to have 'disappeared'

Yep the D4 is the 163, its just badged D4 instead of D3 as it used to be. Same as V60 where a D4 is the same as the slightly older D3. Never known such a confusing badge designation!!!..because a new V60 D3 is lower powered (136) than a slightly older V60 D3 (163). See plenty of confusion arising for secondhand buyers, some may just think its a typo!!

Well that's confusing... Then... My d3 2011 has 163 hp...why on earth would a company go backwards spec but keep the same numbering system??
Perhaps it's optimised for some serious mpg? |

It has to be remembered that D2 D3 D4 D5 etc is NOT an engine type , but a power range for example a D3 may range from 136 bhp to 150 bhp for example .. and D5 may range from 160 to 2130 bhp for example .. That is how the system works ..
The Turbo petrol designation system works in the same way ..and uses the same power ranges ... but T3 T4 T5 T6 etc

^^^^^^^ LOL
Well Westyman, if you have read the specs on the Volvo site, they sometimes list XC60's that have a top speed in excess of 230mph+. The fuel consumption listed at 0 mpg is a bit of a downer though...!!! |
