Default Wanted 240 Estate

Hi all, anyone looking to part with a 240 estate?
Looking for one with a 2.3 engine non turbo, auto box, anything considered, testing the waters

The 2.3 is definitely better.

Last year I bought a 2.0 auto and while it is humourlessly slow , it’s ok over the ground. I regularly travel 130 miles to Norfolk in mine and it really is ok.

I neither wanted a 2.0l nor an automatic but I have to admit I love the old bugger! He is in fairly good order, that made my mind up.

I can see why you want one!👍😃

Good hunting!🧐

Agreed - and the auto does suit the flat, low-down torque curve of the 2.3 very well indeed. Having said that, I also liked the 4 speed plus O/D on my GLT but would not now go back to a manual from choice. But 'Moomoo' is right; condition is everything!

Regards, John.

Each to their own , I grant you but the old three speed automatic wasn’t much fun on today’s roads.

The coffin noses did herald the “more easy to live with motors.”

My o/d auto is most acceptable out and about!🧐
