Default Hardwire dash cam

In the process of hardwiring my dashcam. I'm going into the fuse box on the passenger side but struggling to find a ground. I hoped the bracket holing the fuse box would be grounded but it's not. For those who've done it this way where did you pick up ground?

Look for a bolt holding the dashboard in, tag it and that's your negative sorted.

This is what I had done with my dashcam. From me memory to the right of the fuse box(es), there is a (grey) metal (bolted) bit that helps hold the dashboard in place. I piggy backed off the footwell courtesy light fuse and earthed to this bit of metal. If I’ve time I’ll take a pic or two and post them….

This is the strange thing, I probed numerous likely points but they weren't connected to the chassis. I might remove the panel under the glovebox and have a better look.

From memory, the metal I attached to was right over where the internal air filter is situated. I tested several times for earth capability, and it was fine…

I’ll try and bung some piccies up when I get spare moment

If there's a side panel on the dash pop it off and there should be a reliable 13mm nut on a thread waiting for it calling.

A pic or two showing connections would be very useful. Have to do the same job myself shortly. Cheers.

I removed the panel underneath the glove box, it was two screws. I found a screw that was direct to chassis ground was connected there. I used a spare slot in the fuse box that was live only when the ignition is on.
