I dont disapear into some of the wilds with mine but it does have to go up mud tracks out at my mates out in the sticks and coped with them ok. Couldnt get up there in the wet with the 5 series!!!! Also a good dose of rain and some of the caravan sites can get slippy and never had any probs with it.

Appreciate where youre coming from Roy but they've had mine for a week now without a cheep apart from after the road test when I got the "theres no fault codes in it so it's running fine". I've had 3 Volvos and this is the 1st bad one so admittedly they can build decent BUT they need to listen when the customer says somethings wrong!!

I have just part exchanged my XC90 for a new Disco 3 after losing confidence in the XC90, haven't had too many problems, knocking front suspension, engine failure at the top of a steep hill on exmoor, had to struggle with hardly any brakes and heavy steering to bring it to a safe stop at the bottom, Anti skid system faults leading to over a week in the garage, and finally last week all the electrics went dead near the bottom of porlock hill. we felt that it was time for a change, (btw I bought the XC90 from new, just over 3 years old with only 44k on the clock)
