Default Problem with SRS-Airbag

While I was disconnecting my stereo I unplug the wire from the electric current (green plug) and then in the dashboard's messages appeared an issue with SRS-Airbags. How can I put the message away, or if resetting the ECU helps (if so, how does it is made?)???

I had a similar episode on my v70 when the person installing the car phone disconnected the ECC with the power on (I think it is that same one as the xc90).

Had to take it to Volvo and pay GBP25 to get them to reset the light

I charged it to Carphone Warehouse

Our MY04 has just flashed up "SRS Service Required". I tried to check for fault codes using a "Scanguage" (by Linearlogic) in the OBDII socket, but the Scanguage adamantly refuses to see any fault codes. Can this be..? Surely a fault light (SRS lamp on, Master Warning lamp red and text in Info Panel display) MUST generate some sort of fault code..??

Or... Is the scanguage not compatible with the Volvo system...?? What's this PPC tool then..?

the PPC diagnostic tool is a small meter that is compatable with all but a small number of volvo models.it will read codes, reset warning lights and reset the service reminder.it is also very easy to use.i bought mine for about £65 incl.delivery but it may be a little dearer than that now.

There is one on eBay for £120 and as this is cheaper than the others and the web it appears they have doubled in price!

This message appears if the climate control unit is unplugged while the battery is still connected and may also happen (not sure) when the stereo is disconnected while the battery hasn't been disconnected. My understanding is that this does happen as it create a "short" in the fibre optic rings.
