Hi,

Fitted in the garage when a dodgy door lock was changed.

Working on my sloping drive has long lost its appeal to me. Especially when the cars like to start moving when you apply pressure!!

Hi,

So now I need some help in finding a topic.

Someone, much to many peoples chagrin, was and did work out which relay needed to be adjusted on a V70 to turn the headlamps off when the switch is in the 0 or off position.

I've been searching for weeks for it and had no luck so far...

Hi,

Just to update this, With the new DRL units fitted and showing an nice, clean and brilliant white light, the side/parking lights in the main headlamp units looked decidedly "yellow".
Didn't look right at all....

So, went and bought a pair of these:

Fitting was fun! Based on what I learnt here:

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

The difference, however, is I have fitted LED head and hi-beam bulbs. Now, the access point in the smaller of the two on the unit so I had no chance of getting a hand in!
Turned out, because the new LED bulbs have big fan and cooling I just had to remove the hi-beam bulb!
But as in the video, the clip to release the bulb is between the bulb and inner casing! Fortunately, on one side a volvo dealer (probably) had replace one and they had failed to seat the bulb correctly! Made that one easier.

But eventually all fitted and now the front has a symmetrical cool white look. Chuffed...

Look good seen these for sale myself.

The car must have a light sensor somewhere that tells the radio to dim and the tail lights to come on at night when the boot open.

I would like to change the headlights to auto on when dark and switch the drl to dim.

Would this be possible?

Hi,

I suspect that the light sensor will be with the unit behind the rear view mirror along with the rain sensor etc.

I have had mine fitted with the white on all the time except with high beam. You could wire these up so that when the headlamps do turn on automatically, they will change to the dimmer option.
Mine then also to go orange with the indicators.

As my head lamps are "always on" I have not seen any Auto-On as they already are..

Few questions...

Are they not to bright to have on with dipped beam at night?
Do they not dazzle?
Why have them go dim with main beam?

I would want them to switch to dim with head lights as you say but as the head lights are on all the time its not possible.

Hi,

Whilst they are bright in and on themselves, they are aligned in such a way as not to dazzle. I don't think they would be bright enough to dazzle though.

As for switching with main beam, once main is on - no one would notice those lights anyway and the wire was there..
