Default Number Plates question (not about legality).

Sensible answers please guys.

My 744 is getting on for 32 years old and my front number plate is damaged and needs replacing, I'm looking for someone who can not only make the plate up but be able to replicate the dealer text (in font style, point size and colour) along the bottom of the plate.

Why ? Coz I'm fussy.

It's not rocket science but I don't have a source and there must be someone out there.

Cheers, Jon.

I was going to suggest the same, a friend got some made for his car after supplying a photo of his original "dealer plates", look very good and original without the extra blue GB lump in one end and the original size type (not the narrow stuff to leave room for the country ID) so it looks like it came from the dealer.

I know someone somewhere also makes period tax-discs so you could in theory have an original looking tax disc as well with the expiry date a year from first registration - only for show use in theory as displaying an out-dated tax disc is, for some unknown reason, still an offence!

Thanks, I've sorted the number plates. Apropos tax discs, I know the supplier, but seem to have quite a collection of original discs. I've never liked this newish fashion for displaying the country flag or the EU one on a plate - much prefer a good old fashioned GB sticker.

That's a good spot, thanks. Will try and order some 'Lancaster BRENTFORD' for my 240 as my front plate cracked when I had the front bumper cover replaced.

Regards

Thought it worth posting...DMB Graphics did a great job of reproducing the blue dealer text on a new pair of number plates for my '86 744 - just like a new pair of 31 yr old plates !

Dave was super helpful, recommend them.
