Default 2002 v70 d5 c/l issue

Hi guys, my first time on here so let me start by saying a big hello and thanks in advance for any help.

I have a 2002 V70 D5 with 128k miles.

The issue: When I lock my car with either the key fob or key in the door all my doors lock as they should, After approx. 10-15 seconds later my O/S/R pin pops back up as if it has unlocked, But......It hasn't. When I unlock the car by either of the above methods the car unlocks and O/S/R sounds like it has even though the pin was already up. When I lift the outside handle nothing happens as if it is still locked, When I pull the inside handle the same happens. NOW......If I manually push the pin down not locking any other door and pull the inside handle the door opens, I can then open and close it with both inside and outside handles with no problem until it is locked again.
I have tried a replacement unit off ebay and same issue. I have tried key in position 11 with doors closed pulling front window switches up for 8 secs then taking key out and doing the lock/unlock cycle twice to no avail. I have even left the battery disconnected for half hour. I've checked the loom in the rubber sleeve in the door jam and all looks good.
Please please please help I'm at my whits end.

Hi and welcome . A fairly common issue with passenger front lock is the microswitch fails so the lock pops back up immediately and the interior light sometimes comes on while driving. However, the delay you are experiencing is unusual. As you probably know there is a deadlock that engages after about 30 seconds after locking, to prevent door being opened from inside if the window is smashed.

To be honest, as the door seems to be securely locked, I'd be tempted to leave it as it is.

Thanks for your reply Simon Jones. I went out again this morning and tries it again, upon standing there listening properly, After locking all the doors sound to lock again I think its the dead lock kicking in, this is when the pin pops back up on the O/S/R door. But when I unlock it still wont open unless I put the window down manually press the pin and open from inside. Its becoming a pain in the rear as this door often gets used having 2 children.
