My goodness, some of those insurance quotes are insane! I think the most I ever paid for insurance when I first passed my test was a smidge over £600, but this was a while ago and I am of the feminine persuation which might have made a difference. Having said that the young girl that bought my Fiesta said that one of the quotes she had for the car was over £8,500!!

I've just had to change my car insurance from co-op as they wouldn't insure me.

Now paying £1200/ year fully comp, 28 years old , one crash last year...

Car is a V70 P2 T5 and worth every penny of the premium :-)

Im with Co-op on a S80 2.4 NA - They told me they wont insure a T5, I got a good quote from KwikFit on a T5 - approx £1100, and a V70R, same year, with kwik fit, is another £200 cheaper, work that one out.

They definitely pull these prices from thin air, the sooner this rip off gets regulated, the better.

Swinton seem to be on the money for us at the moment.

my only experience of insurance claims is that they indeed try to recover some of what they have had to pay out (regardless of blame) by increasing your premium and all insurers will bump up your premium every year in the hope you don't go compare the meerkat

Alot of this is down to postcode check what yours is on this:-

http://www.motorcarinsuranceuk.co.uk...de-ratings.php

I an 33, 9yrs NCD, 3 points forr a TS10 in 2012 and one non fault claim in 2012.

Old postcode is an E* I was paying £510, moved to another E* and no change, got a quote for somewhere i might have moved with work (but didn't) which is a B rating and it was £320, so location plays a massive part of the risk.

In terms of what the OP said, i would imagine the average age of a Pheaton owner is such that the risk factor of the actual car is quite low.

I don't believe this! My '01 V70 is costing me over £750, I'm 52 and have 13yrs NCD. Admittedly Swinton gave me £180 cashback, but let me tell you that took some haggling.
And this is mostly due to my postcode being an E* rating?

What a load of dangly bits.

Has anyone had any dealings with a broker named Adrian Flux?

My insurance renews on Monday, i'm 33 with full NCD, 6 points and a no fault accident in the last few months.

The renewal price for my S60 D5 was £480, after shopping around got it for £303 with a low excess and protected NCD.

Pleased with that.
