Talking Back in the fold again and adding MKi9200 to SC-901 headunit

Hi all,

been away for a while with other brands and just couldn't resist a 2001 C70 2.0 when the space became available after selling my Saab 95.

Anyhows I want to add a Parrot MKi9200 to the existing SC-901 head unit .
There is no Center speaker in the car so i assume it doesn't have Dolby Surround sound ( is that a fair assumption ) as when I press the mode button nothing happens .

I have been searching the Web and I'am getting even more confused as to the correct cable to use for the SC-901 and MKi9200 match up.

Iam sure someone here has done this and if so can you tell me the correct cable to use i would appreciate it greatly?.

Also I want to change the Autobox filter and fluid and was wondering if it's a big DIY job or best left to a specialist/Mechanic ?

thank in advance and good to be back

brendan

parrots

They fly into my backyard and sit in trees talking and sucking on nectar
That's the extent of my knowledge

TRANSMISSIN FLUID flush tool

ambiguous TRANSMISSION FLUID pumping instructions

There are no user changeable filters.

The FLUID looks pretty, spiralling down the funnel extension

See the clear hose just pushed onto the trans cooler fitting against the green clip at the corner of the battery
connected to the line that comes from the BOTTOM of the TRANSMISSION

because that's where the FLUID is.

Do not concern yourself with where the line goes into the cooler
as you are using the line that comes from the BOTTOM
of the TRANSMISSION
because that's where the FLUID lives.

There is no appreciable pressure when pumping
so you don't need to weld it on.

With the cooler disconnected, FLUID will not squirt out
at 6000000psi into the neighbours eye, as a matter of fact
post drips at disconnection, none will come out at all.

I poked the expulsion hose through the headlight hole to secure it and for extra length.

For those that have followed the TRANS FLUID saga the world over
"Look Ma no marks!"

Just replace exactly what you have removed, as the FLUID level is critical
as FLUID is generally checked too cold with resulting level too low
resulting in probable clunks and bunks.

This is the only TRANSMISSION FLUID flush method!
unless you have dry joints and need them resoldered

THE DIPSTICK TUBE IS THE ONLY FILLER TUBE.
if you can find it

any attempt at gaining access to the TRANSMISSION for faster FLUID ingess will be FUTILE

because it's NOT gearbox oil

There is no requirement to reset transmission with Vida
unless you have fault codes

There is absolutely no requirement to do a tranny relearn post fluid pump

The only way to do it. "Because you must."

Brendan,

I looked into the Parrot idea some years ago but gave up on it as it was far from straightforward and certainly not as simple as getting a single cable to make the connection. If you search the Forum for Parrot and Sc901 you should find a few threads on the subject.

A far easier option is to get a Yatour or Grom Bluetooth box, they are pnp.

Brendan,

One option that I had considered, but which wouldn't work for you, was simply to connect the phone output to the centre speaker and have the Parrot mute the other speakers when required. But I never got round to doing it!

hi all

just to confirm that while there is a SC-901 head unit uninstalled there is no center speaker on the dash so maybe a previous owner installed it as a replacement ?.

regards

Yes, that's why I said my planned use of the central speaker wouldn't work for you.

Hi Brendan...suggest you search...'Parrot driving me Potty'...one of my posts from 4 years ago. It was a nightmare to sort but eventually got it working ok. Best of luck.
