Default Reprogramming

Hi , I recently had a problem with the CD player in my 2003 xc90 where it tried to eject all 6 CDs at the same time after battery had been reconnected, I read a post that said if I got replacement unit with same model , serial number etc. It would work without needing reprogramming. It doesn't work , I've been to Volvo who refused to reprogram. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do or any idea if there is a garage in Lincolnshire that runs Volvo software that could program it for me. Thanks Simon

Volvo can only program virgin units (brand new, never used)
They cannot reprogram units from another vehicle
This is part of Volvo's anti-theft strategy.

Assuming your problem is a pure mechanical CD changer mech problem, your easiest solution is to use the CD mech from the second hand CD changer from the other vehicle, and fit the mech into your CD changer.

That way the serial number stays unchanged and the car stays happy

Alternatively, try ejecting all CDs from your CD changer using the command in VIDA.

Just swap your mechanisms over and leave original electronics. No programming involved..
