Electrics: - Intermittent Problem

My 55 c70 has developed a weird intermittent problem. The roof warning light flashes and a chime can be heard. While this is happening the heated rear screen switch does not work.
This fault appears to be completely random. I suspected at first that it may be a damp problem but it happens in summer as well.
Also when this fault appears the chiming only happens when the car is moving...say above 5mph.
Can anyone think of a component or relay that would affect both the flashing roof warning light and the heated rear switch. Would welcome any suggestions or advice.

Never had a soft top but....heated rear screen won't work if the car thinks the top is down....hope you get someone to reply with some possible solution.

Hi there,
It sounds as though your roof is not locked in the closed position properly, it is doing exactly what it should do, if you pull away with it partially open and that is warn you with the audible sound.

Try fully opening the roof again until the windows go fully up and you here the chime. then again fully close the roof until the windows go up and again listen for the chime that tells you the sequence is complete.
while its open check the locking slots / ports for any obstructions at the top of the screen and at the back.
Hopefully it will seat correctly.
