Default Cam belt change??

Hi folks,
I'd appreciate comments as to when I should be thoughtful about having my 2011 S60 D5 Auto cam belt etc renewed.
Car has only 40000 miles but is coming up to its 7 th BD. Due a service soon and would want to be informed prior to what I'm told is needed!! Will soon be doing annual road trip across Europe.
Thanks in advance.

Cambelt is 108,000 or 10 years

You should have or should change the aux belt and tensioner at 54,000. There is debate on the time interval of this between members as it’s the weak point on this engine. I would double check to make sure yous has the Up to date tensioner fitted and has been done or get it done. Even Volvo confuse them selves when it comes to this but you don’t want a wrecked engine so for peace of mind it’s what I’d do. Make sure you use Volvo genuine parts also or you may as well not bother

If your aux belt and tensiiner hasn't been changed yet, get it done as 7 years is too long even though mileage is low.

This place is littered with stories of aux belt tensioner seizing, causing aux belt to fail which then wraps around the cam belt. D5s biggest weakness given the frequency and consequence of the event.

Seven years and you're on borrowed time. The material degrades over a relatively short time regardless of mileage. Its cheaper to change a be!t than an engine.
