Volvo UK has about 50,000 build slots that they are trying to raise to 60,000 (all variants / models). The UK is grouped with Japan, Ireland, India and australia production because we require right hand drive vehicles; I would imagine (i don't know this for sure) that they batch them together rather than mixing on the production lines as it will require some lines to have people / items switched.

Thanks for the confirmation of my assumptions regarding T8 delivery delays everyone.
I am hugely looking forward to finally taking delivery of my car, its just the lack of information sent out from Volvo head office thats really bugging me about the whole situation. How hard is it to keep people informed on whats going on as there must be someone, somewhere that does have that information.

I will wait it out and hope that the original 6 month estimate is about accurate meaning around a May/June delivery date but I dont know what to do if Volvo come back saying August or later (my pessimistic side coming out there).

The other thing to bear in mind is that with a June delivery, you should be getting the MY20 model, so it will be the latest model.

The new year models usually start arriving at the Dealers during May.

Rare that Volvo surpasses the initial estimation. That happens with other brands like Audi, Mini etc.
I really think that you will get the car earlier than the estimated 6 months.

My order (for a V90 Momentum) went to the dealer on 3rd Jan, for delivery at the end of March. I was told that they could modify an exisiting order slot and get it to me in time. I had a call from the dealer learlier this week to say they had received the car but it wont be Regisetered until March. I still cant have it until the end of March when my current lease car is returned.

Got a call from Volvo Cambridge today with an update of sorts, still no confirmed build date for my car but due to Hybrid supply problems Volvo are forecasting MY20 XC60 T8 deliveries to be Q3 2019.
Bye bye June, hello September!!

Ordered a XC60 T8 Inscription Pro from Marshall Volvo of Grantham on 27th Feb 2019, to replace my Lexus RX. I was told at the time that I was now expecting to see a delivery in the third quarter of 2019. Reason I was given for the long wait was that there is a shortage of Lithium batteries. I was also promised that the price we agreed would remain the price I can expect to finally pay. That surprised me given the Brexit situation!!!
