This is a bit strange as mine isn't an R-Design but an SE Lux. Maybe later cars got the smaller one. Am I right in thinking they were not fitted at the factory but by the dealer anyhow, so there may be some inconsistency introduced as a result?
Edited to add, there's quite a few different designs of bumper covers at this link, some for R-design, some not.
