Question The Dreaded MOST cable break

Dear fellow forumites,

XC90 SE 2003 D5

Valeter did a sterling job of catching the orange MOST fibre cable under the passenger seat yesterday, radio before cleaning, no radio after.
Deny'd all knowledge it was them.
Serves me right for being rushed and letting someone else do it.

I only just replace a failed ATM unit a month ago and I was quite enjoying sound in the seXC beast again.

Anybody know the ideal place to look for a repairer? Preferably in the south of England as i'm in Hampshire. I've oogled some but they're all 'up North'.

All responses kindly received in my 'oh so quiet' 4x4.

You can get Fiber repair kits. Look on eBay. Otherwise, you have to fit a new cable.

This joins two connectors together to bypass a device:

Maybe you can use that to repair the cable?
The visible red light used is not so sensitive to accurate alignment of the fibre...

That connector on german eBay looks perfect, I wonder if i can clean cut the ends of my cables without specialist tools. In which case happy days.

Given that a company damaged it for you, get it fixed by Volvo properly and get the company that damaged your car to pay for the damage.
