Default Hi, I'm running lpg on my 855R!

Conversion was done by Arun Autogas, in March, also BRC Sequential, which I believe is the best system for more powerful cars.

Cost £2100 and I estimate I've already saved £750 on my fuel bills.

It took a while to get it running properly, but it works great now.

I get 57 litres of gas, which means a range of 200-250 miles on my auto 850 and mpg of between 18 and 25, so we are talking up to 55 mpg when I fill at 55p a litre.

I'll post up some pictures when I have time to upload them.

Sorry could not get my head around what you wrote, are you saying you get 18 to 25mpg for petrol and 55mpg on gas? Or are you saying cost wise you get the equivalent to 55mpg in comparison to petrol prices when using gas?

How different is the performance?

I think you've got it there, although petrol has dropped by about 12p since he wrote that, and gas continues to creep upwards. A few months ago my garage had it for 50p (now 55p), and not long before that it was 45. With petrol down to the low 90s now, you'd have to rack up some serious mileage for a new installation to work out.

Actually, the price of LPG is generally coming down. Shell and BP around my way have recently cut the price from 56.9p a litre to 52.9p/53.9p a litre. With the mileage I am doing, I shall recoup the cost of the conversion over an 8 month period (3 months to go)!

It could well be, I haven't checked it at my local lately. How many miles a month are you doing to see that sort of return out of curiosity?

LPG is now 49.9p round here now, and petrol has gone down to 93.

Taking this into concideration it would take me 35,000 miles to get my money back. Although I was saving a fair bit more when petrol prices went sky high I could of got my money back in 2 years but if it stays like it is now it will take a whole lot longer.

(BTW get 16.5mpg of gas and 21mpg on petrol)

Ok Here are the sums.

It cost £2100 for the BRC kit fitted. Add a little for to-ing and fro-ing and new plugs etc and it came to around £2250.

35000 miles at 21 mpg (petrol) costing 93 pence per litre = £7,052.50

35000 miles at 16.5 mpg (LPG) costing 50 pence per litre = £4,825,76

meaning over 35000 miles I save £2,226.74

I must admit I didnt think the fuel compsumption would be such a difference on lpg, and thought I would get my money back quicker.

But on the positive side, I paid for the LPG with a bonus from work, which I would of only spent on sweets by now, and am saving about 25 quid ish a week which makes a bit of a difference.
