i have a v50 D5 which i got rica mapped in 2006. It has performed perfectly since over 40k miles and i intend to rica my new xc60 when it turns up. I also get 5-10% better economy. Thoroughly recommended.

It would only be at risk of overheat if you were using the extra power all the time, lets be honest, you might give it 5 or ten sec full throttle now and then, thats all.

thanks again to all those thave provided information.

I think i will go for a remap but as yet i'm undecided as to who to use.

i have seen some concerning posts regarding rica maps and dead cars!

i guess it depends on how you use the extra power. personally , my average speed on motorways is 75 ish, any faster and its stone chip hell!

cruising on a motorway will have no noticeable effect (power or wear) with a remap, its the acceleration/traffic light GP that will accelerate the demise of wear and tear components, although I don't know of any RICA remapped Autos/Geartronics, as MTE seems the prefered as less harsh on G/Box

As mentioned earlier, RICA tunes the V50 D5 geartronic to a lower output than the manual version. This is to protect the transmission.
