Ah, thanks

So I do recall when the trim was off that on the passenger side there were what appeared to be 2 heated rear window connections

The lower one I think had a single brown wire..... So it's this one that I need to re-earth? So join this to the high level brake light earth.... Do you know what colour the wire is? Brown?

Thanks

Yep you take the lower cable Kevin as that's the one you use.

It's the black wire in the high level brake light that you will connect to for an earth.

Hi Kevin,

did you change or disconnect the battery before?
Had this when i was new to the V70.
I reconnect the Battery in the way ist should, and the message was gone.
Turn off every thing (lights, interior fan etc)
Disconnect the battery, wait about 10 minutes
Ignition on
connect the battery, wait 10 minutes again, turn Ignition off, again wait 10 minutes, then start the engine, turn off the engine and lock and unlock the drivers door 3 times with the key (not remote)
Then all messages are gone.

Hi

Firstly work has stopped me re-earthing the microswitch

Re: the battery....no I've not disconnected it for months (I had a loose steering wheel so had to remove the airbag to tighten the steering wheel nut)

However would a disconnect/reconnect of the battery work?

The cargo area light doesn't work.... as if the tailgate had been open for a while....if a battery disconnect cleared the memory would this affect the cargo area light? I suppose it would....

Worth a try if the re-earth doesn't work....

Ok....I took a wire from the spade terminal in the heated rear window.... Though it is the single black wire on the divers side.... To the black wire on the high level brake light

Didn't work... :-(

The terminal on the heated rear window on the passenger side is brown so I assume not an earth

And I looked at the wiring diagrams in Haynes.... And my volt meter had a flat battery, so I should have checked really

It seems the tailgate lock has 4 wires to it.... Which I can't identify on the wiring diagram

And what's the spring strip metal affair in the lock??
