You might have to badger them a bit, but they are a decent supplier for cheap for many things (tyres included)

There was nothing offensive in your response so no offence taken and therefore no apology necessary! Thanks for the thought though!

I’ve always found them reliable, if a little slow in delivery. Their postage costs usually push them slightly above the ECP cost, but range is better and suitability for your entered reg no/car is more reliable.

I’ve found ECP to be horrific though to the extent that I’d gladly pay more not to have to pass any of my hard-earned their way.

Dig deeper by going to page 10 or 12 and it starts to get older but don't change much :

https://www.trustpilot.com/reviews/5...693f06f87841df

Faulty front brake pad sensor

Purchased front brake pads and the sensor is faulty. After paying for the safe delivery without realising it (another scam they have) they are now claiming as I fitted them myself I need to send proof of being a mechanic? Absolutely ridiculous returns form asking you to fill in all the information you have already given them in ordering the goods. An embarrassment to Germany a country I thought reflected quality!!

There is a reply from Autodoc but that's what the buyer said - i literally picked that at random and then read it so it could just as easily have been a good review, after all 55% of people have rated them "Excellent" but 31% have rated them as "Bad" with the others spread in similar proportions across the three other ratings in between.
Seems like when they do it right, all is good but when they get it wrong, they get it wrong with style!

I got bored after about page 3 of the 1 star reviews, it makes things worse that it takes so long for the items to arrive.

Like i said, mine is only shoes and spring set so about £26 and thankfully i took the initiative and bought another set so waiting longer isnt an issue, if it hits 2 months, then i will really start moaning at them and will threaten with a new review for them lol Just weird that it said it was missing yesterday and its ok today, I just cannot believe that i failed to realise that they are in Germany, I blame Chrome auto translating the page, if in doubt, pass blame, is a motto i adhere to quite religiously

That was why i clicked further back in the history until i found a review in Novemeber when things like Brexit, Covid, Xmas and other things couldn't be used as an excuse and as soon as i saw the date was 9/11/20 knew it had to have been ordered in the first wek of Novemeber at the very latest but more likely mid-October.

That meant it should have been a fairly average, random review. Straw poll, yes, definitely but odd it came up as fairly bad.

As for Chrome, the only one to blame is Autodoc as they have several websites specifically set up to give the impression they're in the UK even with UK call centres. Online Automotive, buycarparts and a few others are all part of them. They also have similar sites, all set up to appear as UK sites so all are in English.

Hopefully you'll get your bits fairly soon, i think i'll stick with Rock Auto unless they can't get hold of what i need, for example rear dampers for my Rover. They seem to have everything else i've needed though!

You didn't fail to realise, as Lord Scooby said, they are very much interested in letting you believe you are ordering from your mainland...

This is an excerpt of the german wiki page for autodoc:
Quote:

------------ translation ------------

In 2011 the expansion to Austria and Switzerland began. They were followed in 2012 by Great Britain, France, Italy and Spain. [...]
2015 the company changed it's name to Autodoc GmbH. The corporate identity was internationalized with translations and country specific top level domains. In the fiscal year 2016 the sales volume crossed the 100 million euro line, in 2017 it was more than 250 million euros. 2018 Autodoc also took parts for trucks and other commercial vehicles into their program.
According to their own account, they are the biggest european online seller for car parts, measured by sales volume in euro. According to the Financial Times from 2018, they are one of the fastest growing companies in Europe.
If you grow that fast, with this summs of money, you have to be very, very careful to not outrun yourself...

They have around 4000 employees and with the begin of 2020 they are now present in 27 countries, newly including Ireland, with country specific online shops.

In 2019 their sales volume was over 600 million euros...

As I said before, if things don't go right in so many cases, and mostly after the same pattern, I'm always tempted to guess it could be some kind of system.

Not a big deal if they dont as
I am glad I ordered them again from elsewhere as a precaution, i will never use Autodoc again, just wish i had realised where they were in the 1st place lol
To be fair to them they are pretty good, I have used them many times before and know of others who use them. I like the access to a good selection of manufacturers of the same part and often find brands we don't get here which are better than some of the tat ECP and local factors sell.

I've never had an issue and once did get a refund on a small broken or wrong part (cannot remember what the issue was).

I'd say your issue is with the courier!
