How to remove tailgate trim?
Can anyone help with details of how to remove the interior tailgate
trim from my xc60 2020 model? Or perhaps point me in the direction of a parts diagram... Russ |

Can't think why you would want to :-)
Would be interested to see any project of a washer jet to clean the rear camera.

Can tell you how to remove tailgate trim on 2019 V90.
Any cheap trim removal tool or thin, non metallic spatula type tool about 25 mm wide slid under the trim, teased along until it abuts a fixing then ease said fixing out. It should just pop out. After the first one the rest are easy.

Volvo accessories is usually a good start as they give fitting instructions for the products, this is for fitting a rear view camera and has details of tailgate trim, near the end of the instructions.

Many thanks for your replies.
The info from nu11eaf is spot on - just what I was looking for. I've attached some photos of the mod on my SQ5. Looking at the diagrams I think it should be doable on the Volvo but as always, the devil is in the detail. One thing that is promising on the Volvo is that the camera lens is a nice smooth convex shape standing proud whereas the SQ5 was recessed into a moulding. This should make it easier to wash clean. I plan to put a T piece in the rear screen wash supply, fit a flow regulator to manage excess pressure, and plumb in the new nozzle. This means that a squirt of the rear wash will also clean the camera lens. I still need to check that I can site the nozzle so that it can hit the lens as there is limited downward adjustment on the ball and socket jet. I'll also have to wait for some better weather as I don't have access to a garage at the moment. Stay tuned for progress (or not!). Russ |
