Default I've Been Racking my brain but just can't get a steer...

Hello,

I have a 1986 240 Estate with a TRW power steering rack. I've just had the rack rebuilt and I want too refill and bleed the system.

Can I use normal volvo psf (green oem stuff) or does it need to be something else?

I'm aware that some racks need atf, some psf and I don't want to mess up my shiny rebuilt rack.

Cheers!

My 1993 uses ATF type F. There was a different power steering pump used on earlier cars IIRC, so that may influence the choice of fluid..

You can use the later green oil, it has better cold weather performance . volvo changed from the red to green in the mid to late 1990's

Awesome thanks so much!

I ordered two litres of the Volvo OEM stuff which should be here soon.

I take it that it's the same stuff?

I've also been advised by the Power steering guy to use CHF... Which i think is the green stuff....??
