Default Yet another recall

Hi

I have just received my third recall notice for my V70 D4 (VEA 2.0l). I have only had the car a year. I think this makes six recalls for this type, okay one is a Volvo general recall, but is this some sort of record. The car is six years old and for the first time in over forty years of owning Volvos I am questioning whether I have bought a good car. I lived with the poor steering geometry on the mk2, but can I live with this one.

Forgot to add that this recall is about the cooling system getting air locks which could cause the engine to overheat and damage itself.

What is the scales of the recall? Does it have a reference number that we can use to identify the scope of the recall?

Thought about that after I'd posted the thread. I'll post it tonight when I get home. The thread initially was about the number of recalls my car had undergone.

Thanks.

While I'm sure we all sympathise with you for having so many recalls on your car, the self interest factor will be, just what this piece of news from you informing of a new recall means to the rest of us concerning our cars. . (At this point I realise how lacking our selection of emoticons is!)

I believe it is this one, 370,000 cars according to the article.

It will be this one:

Takes about 15mins and just adds a 2nd breather pipe between radiator and coolant tank.

Default Always keep an eye on both v/xc60 and v/xc70 forums

Just a reminder - if you have one of the v70/xc70 07- you should also always keep an eye on the v60/xc60 07-18 forum as well. Apart from the body and a few oddities you will find the majority of the Issues, hardware, drivetrain, brakes, etc to be identical to both. This is particularly relevant if you have a VEA engine as there is a lot more of them in xc60s than xc70s.
