Default Whistle noise v50 euro 3 2.0d

So I’ve got a whistle/sound very similar to blowing over the top of a bottle. coming from under the bonnet, only get it when chugging along at around 2000 rpm, could this just be a build up carbon in the air inlet pipe where the egr pipe joins? No loss of power no increase in fuel consumption it does sound a tiny bit knocky at idle which makes me think it’s not getting enough air
Many thanks jack

Are you sure its not the turbo spinning up? I think it comes in at around 1800 rpm.

Could well be but it’s recently got louder. Was wondering if the intakes can whistle if they get too clogged up. I had changed the air filter about 3 months ago, and may be the colder weather could be a factor

Mine always seems louder when its cold, more noticeable on first start too. Check all your hoses and breather pipes for splits just to make sure

Mine goes through every time no problem, just leave it in. Just remember to disconnect the light grey plug on egr to stop engine light coming on and you should have no problems
