Default Handbrake cable Grommets

Sailed through the MOT with one repair to make ;
940 Estate 1993
The right handbrake cable is chafing and sticking in the two holes / steel tabs on the back axle,
I need to replace this cable as it isn't looking too happy and that right handbrake doesn't work right.
(The shoes and stuff move alright inside the disc-drum but I'll grease all that when I replace the cable)

Can I get the plastic grommets which are missing for the holes in the steel tabs on the axle?
Do I have to ask the parts dept at Volvo?
Does anyone sell a box of mixed grommets?

I think that they are “handbrake cable guide bushes” part no.V01329524. My notes from when I did mine 7 years ago are not as thorough as they should be, so I may be wrong.

The parts you are looking for is 1329524 about £2 each from a dealer, won't have on the shelf but be easy to order in, while you are back there check the bracket on the axle that holds the splitter part prone to damage

Default That Bracket.

The bracket Jebus has mentioned. I think that it is “support brace”. Part no 1229696 and the clevis pin, part no.964831. Both are No Longer Available. Repair kits are available from PartsForVolvos #904412, or Nordicar #700-211247 (or 47936). They include an exhaust style clamp to fit round the axle casing if the bracket on the casing has failed.

I've already been through this on my 1993 960. If the white plastic guides are there but only with a groove in it where the cable goes through, you can turn the guide round so the groove is at the top and hold it in place with a couple of cable ties. I did this with mine and it's been good for 2/3 years now. If you want to put in new guides, speak to Steve at Braydon Motors.
Garth.

The brackets and the shakey-looking contraption with the split-pins are all pretty solid ... well of course the wobbly split-pin contraption isn't solid at all but its all there ...

Damn DHL driver put a card through the door and scarpered : seconds later I'm outside shouting and waving his yellow card ... to no avail.
Cable's going to be delivered another day, great. :|
