Will have to go to the opticians because for some reason i cannot see Volvo anywhere on the link, although it does say this item is ONLY compatible with some car models. Never mind ey.
In relation to a little knowledge being dangerous, your one hundred percent correct. Your also incorrect about taking air from the compressor housing and dumping it back into the compressor intake. The recirculating valve takes air out of the compressor side of the turbo, it goes through a small pipe into the inlet manifold behind the throttle plate, one piece also goes to the boost solenoid to slightly retard boost whilst off throttle, the other little pipe blows passed the MAF to keep readings correct. Air only flows through the airbox when there is a draw from the engine, i.e. when the throttle is open. You are however correct on the ICV passing air from the intercooler, but thats where you stop as the latter part of the sentence is wrong. You say pre compressor and after the MAF, the pipe goes directly into the inlet manifold, it goes nowhere near the MAF or the compressor otherwise the system would be constantly recirculating and never sealed when on boost. I think your getting your information confused with dump valves and recirculating valves. Your also reading marketing adverts and taking them as genuine info. |

I'm bored of this now.
Good luck to the op in getting genuine info as you clearly are not getting any from some on here. |
