Default Happy V90 owners, are there any ?

I've had my S3 V70 D5 for 8 years in which time it has covered 128,000 with very few issues. I was planning to wait till used V90's started to fall in price to about £25,000 and then replace my car.

Having read this forum I'm wondering if I should grab a V70 while newish ones are still available. Reading about poor quality leather, electrical issues etc is making me nervous, but the tendency is only for owners with problems to post.

So the question is are the lots of happy V90 owners out there ?

Yes, very happy thanks !

There have been a couple of small things, but nothing more or less than I've experienced with other new cars, either from Volvo, Ford, Jeep, Honda or Saab (do t get me started on Saab...it's been 15 years and I'm still scarred).

Having a good dealer is key.

Yep, another happy V90 owner here. I did have a plan similar to yours Frank, but my V70 reached the end of the road before there was much of a 2nd hand market for V90s.

And another happy V90 owner here. I too was concerned at the many reports of early issues and whilst I still refuse to tempt fate by saying that all is good with my car, I don't regret the move from a XC60.

I don't think I've ever had a new car that didn't have snags, so this may actually be one the better ones.

A work colleague of mine bought a V90 Momentum D4 - new with a decent discount - he's over the moon happy with it and no problems. It's a handsome car too.

Very happy V90 D4 R Design owner here.

It's easily the best car I've ever owned and I have no complaints after 2 months.

Default Happy with V90

Very happy with my new Volvo V90 D4 Momentum. I got a really good deal on contract/lease from Stoneacre Lincoln, which is worth thinking about (a comparison of outgoings against purchase and ownership is quite revealing, once you include depreciation cost for the purchased vehicle).
One tip: Don't spend as much time as I did in the new car trying to set up all the dozens of options within the various features before using it. This can get very confusing, stressful even. So, set up the basics, then start enjoying the car (which will grow on you), and add more detail to the options at odd moments as required.

Unhappy Not happy here

I have just received a new V90 Momentum Pro and it is really noisy on rough roads - really noisy.

It has 18 inch 245/45R18s. They are Michelin Primacy 3 and rated at 100W.

If there are owners who think their car is quiet then can you please post the wheel tyre combination.

Does anyone think Laminated glass makes a difference?

Does anyone think the air/adaptive suspension helps?

Help - thinking of giving it back. I love the car - except from the road noise.

Help!

Looks like it isn't the car for you. Whether there's a fault on yours or not is up to you to find out by, ideally, trying another example of the same model. If that one too is unacceptable to you, send it back if you can. No point enduring something that isn't acceptable to you. Its a major hassle for all involved now that you have taken delivery of course, but ideally you have taken finance to buy it and you therefore have a legal right to a cooling off period. If so and you are adamant, take advantage of it ASAP.

It could be a particular issue with your car. You should find out when you test another example. It does seem that there are plenty of satisfied owners though and I've seen no mention of such a problem on that model before. Road noise has been an issue on early XC90 models, mainly those fitted with 20" wheels for some reason.
