Chaps

Anybody happen to know if the sc901 is a direct plug in and play replacement for the 901 ?

My recently acquired V70 came with a 900 head with no CD tray. I understand the 901 has far superior playback so if the answer is yes seems daft not to replace the existing with it

Just missed out on a 901 so if anybody has one they wish to get rid of please get in touch

they look exactly the same from the front, and after a quick search/checking with my old pics, exact same look from the back as well. they seem to be direct replacements to each other. all buttons and all connections are even on the exact same place... i even wonder, what is the difference, other than 5years of development?

edit: mine got an sc901, and i know the code so we can swap them around, you can try hassle free, if everything works, in exchange of reading my ets light error with your vol reader. tired of not having my cc back, i bet its the brake position sensor :'D

Cheers Reds

Don't hold ya breath but I might take you up on the offer - especially if you give me your unit in the event it fits !

Always happy to help comrades out with VOL FCR

Looks like I will not be taking it to the garage this week - head honcho on the spanners has got another few days off - him and his bloody mountain biking !

Well as it is now warm you get get a stick or perhaps better length of stiff plastic and hold it out the window as you drive along, alter the angle and bingo - home made sounds !

My research suggested that sort of price - does not bother me in the least - given 2 CD trays for the 900 are approx. fifty quid delivered - hence my looking at a 901

I have always fancied a " music box " to entertain the kids so a meet with you might prove very helpful on numerous fronts. Will get some bits swapped over and try Asts fuel rail / pump test then contact you. You work regular hours or like my always on call ???

Right now doing 11pm-6am sun-thurs (so basically finishing at 6am on fri), so im about to go to sleep.
Wish i was on call, this job bores me to hell

Edit:so you could get the box and screw the cd trays, and even the 901

Also dont get me wrong, the sound the car makes is a great entertainment, but cant spend that much on petrol to keep her singing, and it definitely not working in town

As I understand the only difference between 900 and 901 is the latter has an adjustable equaliser. It can adjust a number of frequencies separately on the front and rear speakers.

They will otherwise be plug and play to swap provided you have the codes for each unit.

So theyre direct p&p, and you dont even need mine to test it
Plus you get one that someone is happy to sell to you.

On the other hand, ive moved my brake position sensor around a bit, and my cc works completely fine, so either way i need new bps seals or a new sensor...
