Cabin Filter Replacment
Hi all. Volvo C30 1.6 petrol 2008. I am trying to replace a cabin filter but there are two aluminium pipes in the way which are obstructing access. Could someone explain how to replace a filter as it seems illogical to remove the whole dash to get access?

Not sure, but it looks to me from that picture that you are on the wrong side... over here in the States it is a drivers side thing, you have to take the accelerator pedal out to get to it... for RHD you access it from the passenger side

Pretty sure there's a tutorial type post on here, or maybe youtube... I was going to tackle mine but in the end just gave it to the mechanic to sort. On a UK car you go in on the passenger side (nearside vs offside).

Plenty of guides of how to do this: https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=134870
My advice is to get a nice long extension bar for a smaller ratchet, makes it easier to undo annoying bolts. Crux of what you need to do is remove the ECU (or at least it's mounting) so you can get enough of an angle to get the cabin filter out.

That's the drivers side access cover which only gets you a view of the heater matrix (ask me how I know).
This was the reason I wrote the above guide, pics are re-posted towards the end of the thread, hope it helps you out, 46,000 views
