What does surprise me however is the total lack of response to the 'where should the oil level be on the dip stick, when it does look like the picture in the handbook'. Surely I can't be the only 'Volvo enthusiast' to check the oil ?

Big Sorry if I'm coming across as a snot, but I'm really rather pleased with my move over to Volvo and indeed the previous owner was a paid up member and had persuaded me that it was a club well worth joining. At the moment I'm not impressed !

I felt the same when I joined last Autumn, thought it was maybe because I'd posted in the section for the newer models and it was just quiet on there. Then I realised it was probably because I'm a knobhead. (Kidding)

With a bit of experience I've now found this forum to be excellent and frequented by polite, knowledgeable people who only respond if they have something positive to contribute. Welcome!

Mmm, well now, my car doesn't have built in sat nav or phone. So I cant really offer advice!
Also of course, not being especially anal about Volvos I may well find myself prattleing and I'm fairly certain you wouldn't want that?
So, just assuming a boat floating exercise is required here??

OK you guys so now I'm overwhelmed !! Thanks for all the friendly banter. Just the kind of atmosphere I'd expect on 'proper' forum. It's made me feel all warm inside, or was the the tot of single malt that I've just had ?

Anyway thanks for all the really useful info. I've had a PM asking to post some photos, but I'm not sure how to copy the pics from ebay and upload them here and I tried to reply to the PM but it seems I'm not allowed until I've had 30 posts, Hey Ho. ??

Anyway, next question ! I've searched the forum for the definitive answer to the sat nav problem and am hoping that someone can tell me that there is an alternative to the £216 dvd upgrade. Any reliable alternatives anybody ?
