I had both and deffo prefer the hatch.

I've owned two 340s one was a 1.4 silver 5 door on D plate the other a dark blue 1.7 3 door on an F plate, we preferred the 3 door for the way it looked the 5 door always looked like a bit of a compromise on the rear doors, I also liked the way the fronts seats folded diagonally if you know what I mean.

Love the look of the saloons, like a mini 240 but for practicality and sentimental reasons I go for the hatch.
Also, ALWAYS wanted to put a silver stripe up the side and whack on a set of sunbeam lotus alloys for some reason... |

I second that. Sister had one 3 door 1.4 and later a 5 door 1.7. Ideally at present a 3 door 1.4 would fit the "general transport" duties admirably...
