V60 replacement of *existing* DAB radio module
Hi all,
The DAB on my MY 2012 V60 SE has gone AWOL It was previously working fine up until a few months ago. I have run a VIDA diagnostic which said that the DABM module was not responding. I then ran a VIDA MOST ring check which came back all OK. I have a steady 14.4v at the supply plug, and there are no shorts evident on either of the antenna cables which might have upset the DABM module. Had a peek inside and there's no sign of water ingress or anything burnt. I noticed that there are a number of ex-vehicle DABM units (part nr.31346184) available online. I don't really want to go the aftermarket (e.g Pure DAB) route really. Question is, does anyone know for certain whether a replacement module would have to be coded into the vehicle by a dealer? Thanks in advance, Robin |

Not true. Just ask dealer to remove MOST protection (£20 plus labour) and you are good with any used unit of the infotainment. The software is called Itp remove. Most dealers have no clue or not being helpful. If you remove the Itp most used modules will work and if they don't then they have to do software reload of that unit. Infotainment system has all the serial nr of the unit in CEM after a patch it's not checking

Just curious if you managed to get this working with an aftermarket DAB unit? I've had the same issue with our 2011 XC60. AM/FM etc. works but a scan of the car shows the following codes:
DABM U300004 Control Module General Fault information, system internal failures. Did you manage to get the dealer to turn off MOST? Does it need to be a main dealer or could an independent specialist do it if they have VIDA? Thanks |

Hi, no in the end I didn't bother, just stream from my phone instead.
Module is still out of the car, I just used an adapter to rejoin the bus and that stopped all of the nonsense with the steering wheel controls doing odd things. |
