Default 1998 V70R rear Nivomat?

Hi all,

Did ALL R models get Nivomat?! PFV are telling me they all did, but I'm pretty sure I don't have the Nivomat rear dampers with the large bellows!

Did they all really get self levelling?!

Advice appreciated as I've just purchased some Bilstein B4!

Can't answer your question directly but it could be that a previous owner fitted the springs and dampers suitable for a non-nivomat equipped car.

As above.

Jamie at PFV knows his stuff when it comes to parts - he used to work for the local main dealer before - so I would trust his knowledge.

Hmm, Nivos don't have large bellows, they're quite narrow actually, are you sure you know what's actually on your car?

Beware replacing Nivos with anything else, as Nivo equipped cars have much weaker rear springs, because the shock does a lot of the actual "lifting" of the car, so if you use a non-levelling replacement shock you need to replace the springs too, for original (or at least stronger) ones.

Just thought I'd mention it.

Yep, got that covered. I am rebuilding the whore car anyhow so was planning to move to B4 (rear I have purchased, fronts not yet) with some Kilen springs.

I am rebuilding the brakes this weekend so I'll have a good look what's on there when the wheel is off.

Note that my Volvo dealer today was unable to tell me off my chassis whether my car had Nivomat or not!!
