Default V70 Tailgate not locking

I am finding on my V70 Tailgate that it is not locking when I lock the car with my remote key. The tailgate will still open and obviously sets the alarm off. 2007 series new shape. Is it on a seperate fuse?? Any advice please.

That is a really useful video for showing how to open the tailgate from inside if it will not open. The other method I have read about is to run an earth cable from somewhere on the car to the spindle of the talgate wiper on the outside of the car.

You want a new boot lock or you can try to clean up the electrical contacts and Lubricate the locking mechanism but in the long run it just wants a new part or a used one with some guarantee on it.

That method I've used. I didn't read about it, but figured it out myself. Worked perfectly.
