I'm sorry but I haven't read the whole thread. Does this appliance work with the S40 / V40 (D4192T3) series volvos from 2003?
I bought one about 2 years ago from a Chinese Ebay seller, and all modules work except the ECU / ECM module.
I appreciate your feedback.

All of my buyers have successfully connected to their various Volvos so I don't see any reason why the VCX tool would not work.
I can't specifically recall anyone with your exact engine version buying one of my tools though.
