Default Volvo V70 Phase 1 Classic 2.4 Petrol Auto.

Volvo V70 Phase 1 Classic 2.4 Petrol Auto.
Year 2000 on a W Plate.
Silver with beige leather interior
Alloys, cruise control, climate control, ice cold aircon, heated seats, wood trim, tilt steering wheel, luggage nets, rear tints, load cover, original mats (including back), dog guard, 2 keys, 5 seats

New MOT (May 2017). 181k miles

I have replaced the alternator and the rear bumper brackets. Is due an oil change (I have the filter already)

The bad. Scuffs on bumpers. Engine warning light on dash. Seam on driver's seat has opened (All this has been there since I bought the car 5 years ago). Damage on rear nearside door (see pics)

I has a Transcend DrivePro 200 Dashcam fitted. This is wired directly into the fuseboard with wires all hidden. I am leaving it in for now in case the new owner would want it. It is not included in the price. I would have to buy another one, plus extra fittings for my new car, so if it is to stay I want an extra £120 on top of the price of the car.

£495

I have photo's of the interior but am unable to add them, so please message me if you want to see more.

Hi Peter

You are pointing out various bad bits which is helpful and avoids disappointment, but I also suggest listing any good bits eg
any new
tyres
battery
brakes
exhaust
front or rear shocks
various mounts
etc

Last known cam belt change?
How many keys?
How many remotes?
Load cover retracts OK?

Have you had the code(s) read to explain the warning light on the dash?

Does the auto box change smoothly?
Any outstanding advisories at last MOT?

HTH
Steve

Tks Steve. I keep my cars for as long as I can ('cos I love 'em) and am a bit green when selling. Unless I am being a wide boy and trying to dump....which I don't do. I will take all your great suggestions on board and update when I check back. I saw a typo in my OP earlier as well. Couldn't see how to edit. I know I have done that before. Anyway. TKUVM for your comment. If I have to ask the admins to delete and for me to do a new one, all good my end

I would endorse 'SteveSarre's' comments. I also think that you are pitching your price about right, but expect interested parties to want to negotiate!

For what it is worth, I paid £550 for a very similar car last August from a dealer near Rotherham. He had it up for £700 with 4 months MOT remaining. He wasn't willing to put a new one on the car, but when pressed immediately offered it to me for the amount stated. The car went on to pass it's MOT in December with just handbrake adjustment and a dab of weld on the exhaust support required.

We have now done over 3000 miles in the car, and it is everything we hoped it would be. The only downside being that we received only the one key. Buying replacements would have almost doubled our outlay, so, as Steve says, such things are important.

Regards, John.
