New XC90 Today :)
Just a short post but will update with photos and more later.
Just to say we picked up our brand new XC90 today and we absolutely love it! We thought the LandRover we traded in was big but this takes it to a new level. Have a long run tomorrow so will be a real test of long range comfort! It’s nice to be back in a Volvo |

Well done. Enjoy! Wonder why the computer was working for your dealer yet Catspyjamas couldn’t collect his today due to the computer system being down.

Had ours just over 4 weeks now and still over the moon with it.
Just been out this morning with 2 dogs for a long walk, mobility scooter in the back as well, then pick up 100kg of Mortar from Wickes on the way back - the XC90 is a true work horse, but done with finesse.

Niggles
Had mine for two months now and overall very pleased. Previously had a Jeep Grand Cherokee which had some features I miss on the Volvo.
Firstly the auto stop start wouldn't operate unless the footbrake was held down firmly whereas a light touch and the engine kept running. Very useful at roundabouts where you may be edging forward or need to get away quickly. The Volvo however stops the engine even before the vehicle has come to rest. I find it so annoying that it's now switched off in my individual profile! I can't have the car start in my individual driver profile, It always starts in comfort. I am surprised that I have to set it every time I start the car with the thumbwheel. Again I find it most annoying! Thirdly, why is it that I can read a text or listen to a text, but not speak one through the steering wheel button. I found it very useful in the Jeep to be able to just press the button and txt " Home in Ten" or "running late". The facility is available in apple play but to use it the phone has to be plugged in and selected from the touch screen. |

Very well. The jeep is a little outdated now. That said I rate the level of equipment, Panoramic roof, air suspension sunroof, heated rear seats all as standard. I prefer the Volvo speed limiter and pilot assist cruise. The volvo so far is returning average consumption 37.5 where as the jeep averaged 32 over 22000 miles.
On balance I would be happy with either. |

Brake harder than you would normally, as if you were going to bring the car to a stop a little way short of where you intend to. Then at the last moment lift off, barely resting your foot on the pedal to bring you to a stop. The car will come to a stop with engine running. If stationary, and you want to then shut the engine off, a firmer press on the brake will then cut the engine. It took me a couple of days to master, but now can get it to keep the engine running about 95% of the time that I intend to.
