I won’t stand in the way!
I’m going to try the xtrons ones at £13 a set I’ll need 3 too, so if they work I’ll be very happy.

So I bought the cheapo xtrons headphones & they work- but only from one speaker?
Is this a case of buy cheap buy twice or is there a setting I’m unaware of?

That is a pity, I assume you are on the correct channel A or B for the screen you are using, I'm not aware of any other IR headphone settings that are adjustable.

If your stuck, I still have one genuine Volvo set left from my ad

Ok- when the sound is put through the speakers I’m only getting sound from the left side, the same as the headphones?
What do those things up by the seat belts do? There are all sorts of nobs on them!

They are rear controls ... they cover the central CD player and the radio and if required the AUX input (should work the DVD sound ..... lets you control the headunit (as a source)) and allows you to listen to an alternative source to the one being played through the main car speakers ... they put their output via two sets of wired headphones (sockets underneath.)

Found the problem!
My wife looked in the fridge under the DVD player & the sound came on from bothe sides!!
I later got in & lent on the center dvd & the sound went again! A quick wobble & it was back- so I have a loose connection in the dvd/ fridge wire somewhere!
Now, do I strip it & try to find it or leave alone & not use the fridge? I only use it for storage anyway, there are no beers in there!!

Classic case of broken wires in the flexible loom to the DVD player.
Every time the fridge is opened the loom moves and twists and eventually wires break

Is there a particular problem area I can strip the braided wire too to repair?
Thanks!
