Default Headlight restoration

The headlights on my v70 are really Misty.

Will those restoration kits you get online do the job?

Aren't all V70 lights glass?

My PH2 has glass lights. One mists up with condensation, but that is on the inside.

Yeh I think they are glass.

Does that mean they are not workable?

If its condensation, drill some holes in the back of the headlight unit

Worked on a BM I had a few years ago

My 2006 MY car has plastic lenses. The misting is definitely on the outside. Whilst it was in the bodyshop I got them to do the job for about £20. It has lasted about 2 to 3 years, but they are now staring to show signs of deterioration again, so I will need to think about my next course of action.

My P2 2007 has plastic headlamps that were 'milky' I purchased a tube of rubbing body compound with wet and dry 800/ 1200 / 2500 grade. Mask the body around the lens. Start with 800 + plenty of water rubbing gently until you get the hang of it. Upgrade to 1200, finish with 2500. If you happy with this result. commence with rubbing compound using a soft sponge head on a slow speed drill again plenty of water I guarantee this will now get messy.wiping away the lens as you go. Inspect progress and continue for approximately 45 mins - 1 hour each side.

Default Headlamp restoration kit

Hi,

I used the Autoglym kit and my cordless drill to do the lenses on my XC70 a couple of months ago:

The kit instructions are good and I’m very pleased with the results. The kit has enough pads and compound for a few repeats.

Bill

+1 for the Autoglym kit for plastic lenses. The drill attachment and pads make it a fairly quick job. There are other kits too - the 3M one is said to be good.

Wet and dry paper wetted and start with 800 grit and work your way down to 2500 grit and take your time. It will get them polished. Work in some T cut as you go, and the longer you spend the better the end result.
