The kickdown cable on my 940 appears to have severed at the throttle, and wonder if it can just be spliced/repaired under the bonnet, ( and so without replacing the whole cable into the gearbox - if i have understood how it fits) ?
thanks for any tips.

Not much you can do and still use the full travel .. You will have to take off the pan under the gearbox , not a bad job .. if you cannot get a new cable you can get it overhauled at :

Speedy Cables (London) Ltd*
Caerbont Enterprise Park, Abercrave, Swansea SA9 1SQ

andy.barraclough@speedycables.com

excellent and fast service ...

As above replacing the cable is an easy job, the hardest part is getting the correct cable. Having mine replaced transformed the transmission
