When to dismantle the brake system today to get the back plates off for Gary as they looked and felt nice and solid.

Broke a socket, Spend about 6 hours and a lot of swearing and sweat later. I've gotten the carriers and callipers off (Minus the rears as the handbrake doesn't wanna give them up!) and they're completely corroded around the bolts and if ever get those bolts off it'll kill them.

Thankfully my suspensions looks very salvageable as it looked awful but the track rods, ARB and springs are salvageable and in good nick (Apart from the ARB bushes) but the shocks are so bad I can pick big chucks off it. So they'll be have to be replaced!

Got my passenger mirror replacement sorted today. However, I'd be grateful if someone could tell me (or a few of you), does your passenger mirror have the dotted lines on the outer part of it? The drivers side does on my car, but this new passenger mirror from Volvo doesn't have any lines?! I did think that the old one had lines down it. It's just annoying that's all because I wanted it to match the drivers side.

Thanks!

Finally got round to fitting the black leather with silver stitching handbrake cover so it matches the arm rest and gear-stick gaiter. Also tried out some brushed metal effect, metallic graphite grey vinyl on the plastic surround at the bottom of the gear-stick. Looks almost stock (exactly the same colour as original plastic) but with a nice sheen and a textured surface.

I think the newer ones you get don't but if no one else knows check with Gatos as I believe he recently brought a new passenger one with the dotted lines.

My drivers side does have lines, or rather did, cos it was whacked off and replaced by a non Volvo one. Complete unit 60 Euros plus tax fitted (Never paint them as it's a waste of money).

Thanks! Has yours been changed? If so, was it with a genuine Volvo one?

I have never changed it and it looks original.

I am only the second owner, but it may have been changed before, although I am sure the original owner would have used a Volvo unit.
